Electrical permit, PECO interconnection, and building permit check for solar PV
Philadelphia L&I says solar panel installation, replacement, repair, renewal, or alteration needs an Electrical Permit. Solar projects that are not eligible for the EZ solar path also need a Building Permit for Solar Panels and Structure and plans, and L&I directs applicants to submit a private solar interconnection application to PECO before applying for permits. Solar PV projects should therefore confirm EZ eligibility, roof structure, historic status, electrical scope, PECO interconnection, and inspections before installation.
