Plumbing, gas, or electrical permit check for water heater work

City of Miami's Easy Permit page lists plumbing easy permits for setting an electric water heater and changing out a water heater, and gas easy permits for replacement-only water heater or pool heater work. The same page also lists an electrical easy permit for water heater replacement only. Water heater projects should be checked with the Building Department because the required path depends on whether the scope is plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, like-for-like replacement, or broader alteration work.
