Building or trade permit check for insulation and air sealing scope

Houston's residential plan review page says a building permit is required for most residential construction, remodeling, and building repair work inside Houston city limits, while limited minor repair and maintenance exemptions include certain finish work and small drywall or exterior trim repairs. Insulation or air-sealing work should be checked with Houston Permitting Center when it opens or repairs assemblies, changes building systems, or is bundled with electrical, mechanical, or plumbing work.
