Mechanical permit path for HVAC replacement

Houston Permitting Center states that applicants who modify or alter an existing HVAC system by adding or removing parts or equipment must obtain a mechanical permit. The City's mechanical inspections page also lists residential A/C replacement, duct alterations, condenser replacement, evaporator replacement, and furnace replacement as mechanical permit and inspection triggers.
